We only do the V8. It’s strong, reliable and easy to take care of. Most stock LR3’s are already getting way past the 200,000 mile mark without major work, so imagine the longevity you get with some love and attention. The V8 has Jaguar DNA so its smooth and sounds great. It also hunts at night and can climb trees.

air suspension, not coilovers

The LR3 air suspension is one of its most misunderstood, but most powerful assets. Not only does it provide a supple ride, it’s ability to articulate (given the independent suspension vs live axle) allows remarkable ground clearance, traction and offroad performance. Also if you do manage to high center it (wow well done!) there are no less than two extended modes that will boost you off that pesky obstacle. Also you can lower the car to help your Mom climb in.

maxed out tire size 265/65 18”

We’ve experimented with all sorts of lifts and stuff, unless you want to break your truck and your ass on the Rubicon trail, they just aren’t worth it. We run 265/65 AT tires from a small set of trusted brands (BFG, Cooper, Goodyear) on 18 inch wheels. There’s some minor rubbing at full steering lock, but its a non-issue and gives the ideal balance between offroad performance and onroad manners.

Roof rack

Roof racks are super handy for crash pads, Christmas trees and dancing on when your watching the Perseids in the desert. Also they look cool. Choose from Gobi or Baja racks. You can add a ladder too but you dont need it and they block views and add more weight.

12,000 lb winch

Whats a Landy without a winch? ANyway, if your so inclined we can add one. We only do the hidden winch mount, mainly because the aftermarket bumpers are just fugly and weigh a ton.

sound system and backup camera

The stock sound system on the LR3 is actually pretty swell. But its also used to being fed little silver discs called CDs. And you wont have any of those. So we fit a powerful aftermarket head unit in the navigation port that along with Apple CarPlay and Android whatsit called also gives you a backup cam.

sunny weather cars

Rust is the real enemy. A rust-free LR3 can be made to run almost indefinitely. We try to source low mileage base vehicles from Califronia, Arizona and other warm dry places where they were often just driven to the golf course and kept in a garage. Any amount of investment in a vehicle can be totally destroyed if the frame and components fall apart, so when you see that LR3 for $5K on Autotrader, make sure you look at the undercarriage, because it will be a Swiss cheese of oxidation and decay.
